Comment: One boy (unknown actor, later Cecil/Sisi played by Miguel Bosé) in a short, light grey suit, but also in a dark blue sailor suit. Sorry, I only found part 4 on YouTube and just a publicity pic of the sailor suit. Scene pictured might be earlier than 1936, either in the late 1910s or 1920s? Main setting should be during the Spanish Civil War. There are 3 periods shown in the movie, 1917-1920, 1925-1929 and 1935-1938 (1918, 1931 and 1936 in the novel)?

Very interesting, but for the sailor suit scene, rating ~4 for now only.

1953 novel “Mi idolatrado hijo Sisí” 4th novel by Miguel Delibes who also wrote the novel of the previous post. English title: Family Portrait. Directed by Antonio Giménez Rico, who also did “Las ratas (1997)”, bib overalls blog, rating 7.

Needs to be rechecked later, when I’ve seen the complete movie.

Comment: One boy in a dark blue sailor suit and matching, regular collar with 3 stripes. Quite long collar flap. Plain, white dickey. I only noticed this brief scene.

Also other scenes of interest like a bathing scene and good bedroom scenes (soon on my other blog, ~ rating 6).

Not that bad, but for the brief sailor suit scene, rating ~3-4 only.

1948 novel by Miguel Delibes.

Family TV film

Who in clothing: boy ~11 ? Lederhosen
Who in clothing 2:

Clothing occurence: medium+ ?
Rating:  5/10 ?
Rating: *****
Comment: One of the 2 boys in buckskin Lederhosen with zippers without suspenders, either René Hahn or Tobias Blume. Also sitting. The other boy in tight, longer jeans shorts.

I have briefly checked this movie. Obviously not on DVD and the image quality is quite weak. First, I wasn’t sure if this is leather, but probably. I wonder, how many East German movies with Lederhosen there still are.

Novel by Horst Neubert.

The boy is not that handsome but at least not very young.

Rating ~5-6 for now.

Comment: Searching for “One of the Smiths” (see my bib overalls blog), I found this vid on YouTube. Pic 1 showing freckled Jay R. Smith, maybe behind the scenes of “The Glorious Fourth” (1927, silent film). Interesting sailor suit, unknown light color, maybe light green?

Pic 2 probably showing Dickie Moore, unknown movie, 1932 or 1933. Rating ~3-4. I think rather few good scenes in this documentary.

Sorry, I’m running out of Lederhosen movies.

Three Men in a Tub (Our Gang)

Classic comedy short film (Little Rascals)

Who in clothing 2: Darla ~7, sailor dress

Comment: One boy in a long, white sailor suit and short blue collar, I think it’s Porky. Spanky in dark pants and a white sailor’s cap and Darla in a short sailor dress (white blouse, blue skirt and white cap). Rectangled collar with big Navy stars on front. Also other boys at least in sailor’s hats including Gary Jasgur and I think Buckwheat (also in a straw hat).

1-reel short film (10 minutes, originally in b&w) and maybe even fewer sailor suit scenes.

There are better movies.

So rating 2-3 only.

Comment: Tommy Bond in a white sailor suit and blue collar with 3 stripes (pic 1, very brief scene at the end) and Dickie Moore in a dark suit and white or similar light checkered and short collar. (Probably few and brief scenes as well).

Of course some other boys and girls in historical clothes but I think not sailor suits including pajamas.

For the brief scenes rating 2-3 only. 20 minutes.

Update: Kalle wird Bürgermeister

kalle-1h09kalle-57

Now completely seen. Rating 8-(9) was correct. This movie (almost) has it all. Smooth finished leather, H-style suspenders, teen boys, girl in Lederhosen, fat boy in Lederhosen, (few) sailor-style (girls only), cycling in Lederhosen (teen boy, buckskin)… Many boys in Lederhosen, around 100 boys ~5-15 yo (mainly younger boys), but many supporting actors from a distance. So rather ~10 boys and only ~1-2 in smooth finished leather.

Pic 1 at 1h10 (smooth finished leather, 2 zippers), also several other scenes of him, including rear views (mainly from a distance), pic 2 at 57 showing main character Kalle in buckskin Lederhosen, another, younger boy H-style suspenders and a fat boy (buckskin with patina).

Pic 3 showing the girl in short buckskin Lederhosen (brief scene at 1h01 also legs shown). Pic 4 at ~26 minutes showing boys, maybe one or 2 in smooth finished leather but briefly and side view.

First scene at 12 minutes (sitting), best scenes (front) of the teen boy Kalle at the beginning (22 minutes) but I don’t like him. Other notable scenes at:

18 Kalle rear, 25 cycling Kalle, 36 sit, 36 smooth finished (see main entry), 41 short sailor collar, rear,44 smooth finished, 46 sailor style, 46 seesaw, 50 smooth finished rear, 51 H-style (see main entry), 56 smooth finished, 56 fat boy+others, 57+1h09 smooth finished, 1h15 boy 5 yo, 1h19 young boys, rear.

Another update soon. Also soon on my pigtails and Western blog. Typical 50s movie like Erich Kästner.

Comment: Obviously several boys in Lederhosen, with and without H-style suspenders. Young boys and teen boys (at least up to 14/15 yo). Some Lederhosen have much patina maybe smooth finished? Also others in shorts.

Aka Winnetous Söhne.

Pics from the trailer. Update: Completely seen. Much more scenes than assumed and many smooth finished leather. Also a girl in Lederhosen and a fat boy. Almost rating 9.

Comment: I think George ‘Spanky’ McFarland in a short, light green sailor suit and brown or purple collar. (Colorized version). Not sure if these are the correct colors. But there were light green sailor suits (Pinocchio). Also in a dark sailor suit in “Benny, From Panama” (1934) and in a white sailor suit including cap in “Shrimps For a Day” (1934).

He’s very young. But interesting color.

So rating 2-3 only.
