Comment: Thanks for this suggestion! I’m not sure if I have noticed them before. But I don’t like these red jackets. Lederhosen are long and dark. One of few Boys choir singing in Lederhosen (also on Christmas).

Pic 1 from a 2017 clip called “Der Zauber der Wiltener Sängerknaben Von La Scala nach Shanghai (Trailer)”. Aired at the 70th annivery; obviously the pic is from 2017 (or 2016) as well.

Pic 2 is from the 2015 Christmas concert “Weihnachten mit den Wiltener Sängerknaben”. Lederhosen but same church-like setting than the Vienna Boys Choir and others and is not a Bergweihnacht.

I have to research for earlier clips and members.

Rating ~4 for now.

I wish all my readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Comment: Helene Fischer & Die Wiener Sängerknaben (Vienna Boys Choir) singing “Ihr Kinderlein kommet” at the beginning of the show.

Has been aired on Sunday. But the song clips might be older than 2017. I missed some parts and only noticed this song.

Maybe this is from the 2015 “Helene Fischer: Weihnachten” show.

I have some more entries about the Vianna Boys Choir (also other feature films and documentaries and movies starring Michael Ande, partly with Lederhosen)

Recently, there were some other movies with boys in historical clothes like Die schwarzen Brüder (2013) yesterday and Das Bernstein-Amulett (boy in shorts with H-style leather suspenders, few scenes, I think in part 1 on channel One).

Comment: There were at least some young boys and probably men as well in buckskin Lederhosen in yesterday’s episode 209 Südtirol im Herbst. But I missed some parts. Sorry, no pics. Non-celebrities anyway and young boys. Probably available on the mediathek.

Rating ~3-4 for now.

I don’t know all episodes, and don’t remember any other Lederhosen scenes. I mainly remember one episode starring Louis Hofmann (Tom Sawyer 2011).

Brennendes Geheimnis (1977)

TV coming-of-age drama, Thomas Ohrner
Year: 1977
Year in film: ~1910
Country: D, A
Who in clothing: Edgar ~12, Lederhosen (?)
Who in clothing 2: Edgar, suits, knickers
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Clothing occurence: low ?
Rating:  5/10 ?
Rating: *****
Comment: At least Thomas Ohrner in at least 3 different suits and I think also Lederhosen with H-style suspenders. Not sure about the length and not sure about sailor suits but I think similar historical clothes. Sorry, currently no better pics.

I don’t know the complete movie, yet. Maybe this is even worth buying.

Very interesting. Rating ~5-6 for now but unsure.

There’s also a 1933 b&w version, which is also of interest and of course Burning Secret (1988) rating 8. Novel by Stefan Zweig, which I also have read some time ago. Directed by Wilm ten Haaf who also directed Das Haus der Krokodile.

Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull (1982)

TV seriee, 5 ep. Novel Thomas Mann, Director Bernhard Sinkel
Year: 1982
Year in film: ~1880s (sailor suit)
Country: D, A, F
Who in clothing: young Felix ~14, sailor suit
Who in clothing 2: boys, hist. clothes
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Clothing occurence: low ?
Rating:  3/10 ?
Rating: ***
Comment: At least ~13 or 14 yo Oliver Wehe in a long, probably black sailor suit. Rather short, I think dark blue collar flap, 3 stripes but more on the sleeves and dickey or I think it’s a shirt. Also the suit is being undressed by a lady at a photographer. I think only few scenes in episode 1 (at ~28 minutes). Previoulsy outside with a jacket and a basque cap. Other historical clothes, like he and other boys at school in regular black suits with white collars (ep 1 at ~11 minutes).

Also interesting bedroom scenes including bunk beds. And other scenes of interest like the shirtless scenes.

Interesting series, but rather few good scenes and I don’t like the grown up Felix.

So for the sailor suit rating ~3-4 only. I only have checked this briefly.

There’s also a 1957 b&w movie starring Horst Buchholz which needs to be checked as well. Probably no boys at all. English title: Confessions of Felix Krull.

Update: Wilde Wasser (1962)

Thanks for the note, that this movie is currently on YouTube. So I made some more and larger pics. I somewhere have a better recording but am too busy to search for it.

Yes, there are only rather few scenes at the beginning, but very good scenes.

The girl in the bib overalls bumping against the boy in the Lederhosen. Also nice scene of stepping the organ.

Main entry, rating 6

Now on TV: St. Josef am Berg – Berge auf Probe

Clothing occurence: very low ?
Rating:  4/10 ?

Comment: Pic from yesterday’s s1e1 Berge auf Probe. At least 2 boys and some men in longer, buckskin Lederhosen at the beginning. I think another very brief scene (bird’s eye) of a little boy near the end.

I missed some few parts but have almost seen the complete movie. Nothing more of interest in this 1st episode.

The movie itself wasn’t very good either. Starring Harald Krassnitzer.

Episode 2 today in Austria and on Friday in Germany.

Previously rating 5, now rather 3-4 for now.

Zauberhafte Weihnacht im Land der “Stillen Nacht”

Christmas show

Year in film: 2017

Who in clothing: boys ~9-11, Lederhosen
Who in clothing 2:
Available on DVD: no ?
I own: no
Clothing occurence: low ?
Rating:  4/10
–Rating: ****
Comment: The few boys in this mixed choir in medium brown, long, buckskin Lederhosen, also sitting.

Again, A Merry Christmas! This show has been rebroadcasted yesterday on WDR. I have only seen some few parts at the end. Filmed in Salzburg or Saulzburg region, the location of the famous Christmas song Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht. (Silent Night, Holy Night).

Not sure about the name of the choir, maybe der Kinderchor der Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen. Hosts Sonja Weissensteiner and Harald Krassnitzer.

Rating at least 4-5. Needs to be rechecked. I didn’t expect Lederhosen this year at Christmas, as I can’t receive Bavarian channel BR anymore.

Waldrausch (1962)

Heimatfilm, remake 1, novel Ludwig Ganghofer
Year: 1962
Year in film: 1960s ??
Country: Austria
Who in clothing: Toni ~6 ys, Lederhosen
Who in clothing 2: men ?
Available on DVD: yes

Clothing occurence: medium- ??
Rating:  4/10 ??

Comment: Finally another Heimatfilm, I found by coincidence. At least this young boy (probably Peter Toifl) in Lederhosen. Maybe (partly) smooth finished ?

Starring Marianne Hold, Sieghard Rupp and Herbert Fux.

Rating 4-5 for now only. The boy is very young.

I haven’t seen the complete movie, yet, so needs to be rechecked for amount and other actors. This is the 2nd movie after 1939 (b&w) which also needs to be checked.

The 2nd remake from 1977 is set in the 1900s (very few scenes, rating 3)

Das Sacher. In bester Gesellschaft

Biography in 2 parts
Year: 2016
Year in film: 1890s

Who in clothing: girl, woman sailor dress
Who in clothing 2: boys hist. clothes
Available on DVD: yes
I own: yes, partly TV recording
Clothing occurence: very low
Rating:  3/10

Comment: A young girl and a woman in sailor dresses in yesterday’s part 1. Some few boys in historical clothes including these 2 barefooted poor boys. Also rich boys in suits but I think not sailor suits and very briefly shown in the streets in the background. Maybe more in part 2 (on Wednesday, set some years later)?

Pic 1 is at 1h02, pic 2 at 1h05.

The woman in a long, medium blue dress including blue collar. The girl in a quite rare medium brown dress with an angled beige collar, 2 stripes and matching dickey. Both brief scenes as well. Kids aren’t often shown, except for one poor working girl (not in sailor dress).

The movie itself is often very boring. I don’t like at all Josefine Preuß.

Available on the ZDF mediathek.

Rating 3 for now only.

Update: Part 2 is even worse. I haven’t noticed any in sailor suits or dresses. But might have missed some scenes. Another young boy in an usual suit.
